Lucy is right–not just about her one millennial, but about millennials in general, and about human beings in general.
They don’t like to be manipulated and they don’t like to be treated as an homogenous blob of identical, unthinking individuals.
Like all human beings, they crave meaning and purpose and respond to it. Maybe she is right that there is less of this around than in the past or maybe people are simply more downright demanding than they were in the past.
The change of management that Lucy talks about is a management built upon and exclusively using the power of meaning, of what makes sense, of what is good for everyone to get things done.
THAT will keep them. But it does have to make sense and that is the job of management and the challenge to Companies.
