Challenging people on their performance can be a challenge in itself.  People can feel criticised, that the ‘accusation’ is unfair and can become defensive, upset or annoyed.  For these reasons, we often avoid having these conversations at all.  But this is unnecessary and these situations can be handled honestly and well and respectfully.
